Sold: 55.5m Damen yacht support vessel

Burgess is pleased to announce the sale of a new 55.5m YS 5009 (182ft) from Damen’s Yacht Support range of vessels.

The new vessel is currently under construction and due for delivery in summer 2019. Burgess Technical Services is delighted to have been appointed by the buyer to assist with the rest of the build process.

The Damen Yacht Support team worked with the owner’s team to create a highly customised design based on the YS 5009. When launched, she will be the seventh YS 5009 and, like recent deliveries POWER PLAY, SHADOW and AXIS, she will feature owner and guest interiors. Together with extra staff cabins, abundant storage and high-end service facilities, the whole proven platform comes in at under 500GT.

The YS 5009 is a steel semi-displacement vessel with aluminium superstructure. The 12-tonne deck crane is perfect for launching toys, submersibles and large tenders up to 15m (50ft). With Damen’s patented Sea Axe bow form, the vessel has greater seakeeping performance even in rough seas and reaches a top speed of 20kn. Atlantic crossings are no problem for the YS 5009 thanks to a 5,000nm range.

To date there are a total of 12 Damen Yacht Support vessels cruising the world and more under construction. Damen Yacht Support will deliver the first 45.6m YS 4508 (150ft) in 2019 and has a new YS 5009 under construction for 2020 delivery. The range also includes the 70m design, illustrated by the recent delivery of GAME CHANGER. Damen Yacht Support is part of the Amels and Damen yachting portfolio, which includes Amels Limited Editions, Damen Yacht Support, Damen SeaXplorer as well as Full Custom and Refit.
