Burgess is delighted to announce its appointment as sales agents for the 54.9m expedition yacht STEEL with an asking price of EUR 27,500,000.
Delivered in 2009, STEEL hails from the renowned British shipyard Pendennis. A true 'go anywhere' explorer, STEEL satisfies imposed credentials to be classified as Lloyd's Ice Class 1A - leaving her ready for any adventure.
STEEL owns a robust and imposing exterior capable of withstanding extreme conditions with relative ease. Her on-going refit carried out at the Pendennis shipyard included the painting of her midnight blue hull and she pulls focus wherever she sets sail. She is the brain child of a dream team British collaboration seeing Pendennis; naval architects, Burness Corlett & Partners and designers Liebowitz & Pritchard unite. What was created is a beautiful contradiction that fuses rugged seagoing capabilities with a sophisticated and timeless interior, reminiscent of the 1920s heyday of cruising. Built mainly in steel, with an aluminium superstructure, she is equipped with state-of the-art systems allowing this 769 gt vessel impeccable technical prowess. Four quantum zero speed stabilisers ensure comfort while underway and at anchor, whereas her rounded stern is a typical comfort feature of a true ocean going vessel. As a world explorer her range of 5,190 nm at 12 knots will ensure long haul voyages are within easy reach.
Inside, her interior embodies a softer touch. With an unconventional superyacht layout, the designers utilised an abundance of Cuban mahogany to create an elegant and timeless finish. The clever use of space has created intimate dining or relaxation pockets on the main deck, which include a gentleman's informal retreat, ideal for after dinner socialising; a main saloon complete with humidor, and separate train carriage breakfast bench. For formal dining, a grand room with seating for 12 features high ceilings and chic low lighting. However, the large windows offer views out across the horizon. In total, she could accommodate 19 guests in seven cabins in a configuration of four twins with Pullman berths and a nanny cabin on the lower deck plus the VIP located on the boat deck. Her master cabin, found at mid-ship for maximum comfort and stability offers a double bed plus marble en suite. All guest cabins feature a flat screen TV, iPads and personal movie/music systems. In fact, well-being hasn't been sacrificed on this explorer at all; expect a sizable pool, heated for colder climes and a well-equipped gym both found on the upper decks. She is a unique explorer yacht on the market today.
