Ben began his seafaring career sailing as a Deck Cadet and subsequently a Deck Officer with P&O and Princess Cruises. He obtained his Unlimited Master Mariner qualification at the age of 26 within the cruise industry. On leaving the cruise sector Ben worked for P&O Ferries, where he completed his Pilotage exemption exams, the culmination of which saw him Captain P&O vessels on the English Channel route.

Ben made the move into yachting in 2015, working on some of the industry’s most recognisable yachts, ranging in size from 50-180m in length. The pinnacle of Ben’s Yachting career came when he was appointed as Captain on board a 110m private yacht working directly for a Royal Family.

Ben joins the Burgess Management Team following a 21-year seagoing career.
