Burgess Asia receives prestigious award

Jean-Marc, Hwee and the Asia team hailed as the Best International Asia-Based Brokerage Company at the Christofle Yacht Style Awards in Phuket

Congratulations to the Burgess team in Asia, which was recognised as the Best International Asia-Based Brokerage Company at the Christofle Yacht Style Awards on Wednesday 9 January 2019. This is the second successive year that Burgess has received the accolade.

A glittering ceremony, organised by Yacht Style magazine, at the Café Del Mar on Kamala Beach, Phuket, was attended by 350 VIPs including yacht owners and key industry figures from leading luxury brands. The event was the first of a two-part awards ceremony, with the second in Singapore later in the year.

Gael Burlot, CEO and Publisher of Yacht Style, said: “We had a really impressive guest list from around Asia and beyond. There was a really high standard of nominees for each award and we had 15 deserving winners, although competition was really close in many categories.”

Yacht Style Managing Editor John Higginson added: “This year’s two-part Christofle Yacht Style Awards highlights yacht builders, companies and personalities focusing their efforts on Asia and who are active in the region.

“It was rewarding to see just how many leading shipyards are selling or bringing brand-new models into Asia faster than ever. This is an exciting time for yachting in the region for many reasons and it’s great that Phuket, South East Asia’s cruising hub, was the home of Chapter One of the Awards.”
