'Boat shows are back!'

First and foremost, it felt great to be back at boat shows. We didn't really know what to expect this year, but Cannes was a good leader into it as an indicator of how Monaco might go. With Cannes, when we first went in we were uncertain of the appetite for clients to go but it was all very positive - in fact it may have been the busiest Cannes show yet.
 

It was interesting at both Cannes and Monaco that this is the first chance people have had to get on yachts for a while and we definitely saw a good number of clients so yes, boat shows are back!

Monaco saw plenty of activity. We had 11 yachts in the show which was a fantastic display and the number of yacht visits was up at 2019 levels. 
 

There was a new format for the first day this year which meant it was much more client-focussed and reduced the numbers on the dock. The focus really was on clients interested in purchase and owners of yachts in the show, and it worked. We have many ongoing enquiries, a lot of strong interest and offers received.

All our yachts were busy and we had some very exciting sales market launches at the show with IJE, INVICTUS, VICTORIOUS, IMAGINE and CLOUD 9. Craning a Bentley GT Speed onto VICTORIOUS' helipad added a touch of glamour, that was very cool! We had two excellent boats in Cannes too with LA POLONIA and ALTAVITA so all in all, a very positive season.

Looking ahead, FLIBS is going to be a little more difficult to predict because there are still travel restrictions in place for Europeans. 

That said, the US market is very strong, trading conditions this year have been as good as I can remember and we have our US team there right now on hand to welcome those clients that can attend.
